True-to-life battles and realistic life and death confrontations – it’s all in a days work in California’s Mojave Desert where a simulated Iraqi village, the Medina Wasl, has been constructed to train soldiers before they deploy to the real deal. The Army had a complex vision for training their men and women and we’re glad to have helped bring their vision to life with a full scale fabrication created in our shop.

Here at The Shop we ‘re proud of the reputation we’ve earned for delivering high quality scenic and themed environments and we love a challenge! And this project was special - this project had to be Army strong. The unique purpose challenged The Shop to design and build an extremely durable, safe and authentic environment. The final product The Shop created provides soldiers the most realistic opportunity to understand the harsh situations of war. See our work take a beating - and stand strong! – in the National Geographic documentary Full Battle Rattle which depicts one battalion’s experience in this simulated village.
