The Shop Wins an Event Design Award
The Shop @ ShowReady is pleased to announce that we won Event Design Magazine’s 2009 Bronze Award for the Star Trek: The Tour attraction in the Best Outdoor Consumer Event Exhibit/Environment category.
Designed by Paramount Studios under the creative direction of Herman Zimmerman, The Shop @ ShowReady was contracted to fabricate the majority of the design elements for Star Trek: The Tour. The attraction included a full-scale replica of the Bridge from the original series, which integrated the actual Captain’s Chair used by William Shatner in the first Star Trek series.
A major feature of this attraction was the 250-person 360-degree theater with a 2,000 lb. rotating hexagon screen that was lowered after each presentation. The theater was built with aluminum I-beam construction and assembled on sight with a ten-ton crane.
