Shacknews is the premier news destination for tech-savvy gamers. They have relied on the teams at FG|PG and The Shop to design and fabricate their exhibit properties since making their E3 debut three years ago. This year’s show was easily their most exciting on record. Shacknews had it all, from celebrity interviews to live tournament play.
It was important to Shacknews that their booth at E3 represent their unique sense of humor while fostering the community they’ve painstakingly built over the last 22 years. With that in mind FG|PG designed a Shacknews experience that was as independent as their spirit while Show Ready fabricated an immersive 40×60 exhibit that was broadcast ready for round-the-clock livestreaming.
The main attraction was a raised 16×32 platform that put the Shacknews Inaugural World Championship front and center. Surrounding the elevated gaming stage were four 10 FT tall viewing pillars streaming live gameplay and 10×6 enclosed shoutcaster booth to capture color commentary for their Twitch live stream.
In addition to kicking off the Shack Champions League, their exhibit played host to a jam-packed schedule of interviews from some of the industry’s biggest names. The Shop @ Show Ready created a plush lounge to capture in-depth conversations with developers from Tomb Raider, The Walking Dead, and SEGA to name a few. SEG fabric graphics were utilized to create a pixel-perfect backdrop, streamline installation and dismantle, and reduce the cost of freight. Plush seating, coffee table, and a mock fireplace, were used to bring the quirky living room aesthetic to life.
