Carpenter Position

SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong carpentry expertise in exhibit, trade show, retail display, and/or commercial millwork fabrication. This role requires proficiency with skilled carpentry techniques, including the use of saws, routers, pneumatic nail and staple guns, gluing, and lamination, as well as a variety of power and hand-held tools. The candidate must be able to read and interpret plans and fabrication drawings and work with multiple materials such as plywood, MDF, laminate, and acrylic on equipment including table saws and routers. The ability to work efficiently, meet quality standards, and adhere to project deadlines is essential. Occasional travel for offsite installations is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares the layout of the assigned project
  • Estimates height, width, length, and other proportions
  • Works with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, metal, plywood, MDF, laminate, acrylic, paint, etc
  • Utilizes chisels, planes, saws, drills, routers, and sanders to build, repair, and erect structures
  • Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
  • Works on top of stilts, ladders, scissor forklifts, and the top beams of structures
  • Uses levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure that everything is level and secure
  • Works with prefabricated buildings
  • Builds or repairs stairs, mantles, and furniture
  • Installs materials and molding
  • Installs partitions, doors, and windows
  • Moves and installs machinery
  • Meets project standards and deadlines is a must
  • Works with a team of builders to construct assigned projects from start to completion
  • Interprets and works from plans and fabrication drawings
  • Regulates material usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency on the projects
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of experience in woodworking or cabinet making
  • Extensive knowledge of high-end wood fabrications as related to furniture, cabinetry, and fixtures fabrication
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking materials
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in a cold/warm warehouse environment around moving equipment
  • Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours plus per day, work overtime, and on weekends
  • Experience driving a forklift preferred
  • Make precise measurements
  • Practice safety at all times

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will prepare custom fabrication, and logistics estimates in alignment with project designs. You will also manage project communication and coordination across all company resources, ensuring smooth fabrication and production workflows from start to finish. The ideal candidate combines strong estimating skills with project management expertise to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Estimator duties – Including but not limited to:
  • Review RFPs, design renderings, technical drawings, and other data to determine material, labor, and cost requirements.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for wood, metal, graphics, hardware, lighting, A/V, and specialty elements.
  • Conduct special studies to establish standard hours, cost data, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Design, clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss, formulate, and value engineer estimates while maintaining project impact.
  • Develop preliminary schedules and identify key cost drivers to support project planning and execution.
  • Develop detailed project estimates and compute cost factors for planning, scheduling, vendor selection, bids, and overall cost-effectiveness.
  • Build labor budgets, including shop, graphics, installation/dismantle, and supervision, as necessary.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Attend estimating turnover meetings and participate in client pricing presentations as required.
  • Analyze completed projects by comparing estimated costs to actual costs; identify trends and support management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
Project Manager Duties – Including but not limited to:
  • Contribute to discussions with Account Management on resource allocation, scheduling, and project challenges.
  • Develop and manage project schedules from award through installation.
  • Establish and maintain project plans; report progress, escalate issues, and facilitate project reviews as necessary.
  • Create and manage detailed project budgets; communicate with the Purchasing Manager to issue purchase orders.
  • Lead cross-functional internal kickoff meetings.
  • Facilitate meetings with appropriate personnel to communicate project deadlines, details, and expectations.
  • Maintain client communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, estimates, timelines, and workforce.
  • Oversee shop production milestones and quality control for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate logistics, shipping, and installation crews when services are contracted.
  • Manage multiple medium-to-large projects simultaneously, including their project teams of varying size and complexity.
  • Manage scope changes and issue change orders as required.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within the client’s budget.
  • Maintain accurate job cost tracking and monitor margin performance.
  • Prepare cost analysis by summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Proficiency with estimating/project management software and the ability to interpret technical drawings and design renderings.
