The Ask
When the world's premier international inbound travel trade show comes to your city, showing up isn't enough. For IPW in Chicago, Choose Chicago needed a booth presence that embodied the city itself — bold, inclusive, architecturally considered, and impossible to walk past.
As host city sponsor, Choose Chicago had a rare advantage: the ability to exceed the standard 16-foot height limit and build up to 25 feet, giving the booth a literal presence above the show floor. The objective was to use that advantage to its fullest.
Beyond spectacle, the environment had to work. The space needed to support 12 semi-private meeting rooms, a staffed reception and hospitality desk, a relaxed lounge for overflow conversations, a barista and cocktail bar, and a large-scale video wall for content and partner programming. It also needed to integrate partner inline booths seamlessly, presenting Chicago's full tourism ecosystem under one cohesive visual identity.
The brief: build something that feels like Chicago.
