The Ask
JCK Las Vegas isn’t a general trade show. The most prestigious event for the jewelry industry, this room sets the standard for everything that surrounds the actual product itself – booth included. For eBay’s Luxury team, they were faced with a significant challenge: take the brand most associate with everyday consumer commerce, and establish it as a credible authority figure in a room filled with high-end jewelers, collectors, and buyers.
The brief centered around eBay’s initiative, “Grow Your Business with eBay”, targeting professional jewelers and high-value collectors. To build a space for these gemstone guests, the environment needed:
- Position eBay as a premier destination for luxury jewelry through “Certified by Brand’ and “Authenticity Guarantee” messaging
- Demonstrate specific platform and features, including the “Best Offer” functionality, to educate potential buyers
- Provide space for B2B conversations to happen with professional sellers
- Support eBay’s creative framework of “Things People Love” with product-specific visual storytelling
At JCK, earning credibility in a luxury jewelry environment isn’t something you can talk your way into. The build had to support and reinforce the messaging eBay set out to deliver to convention-goers, and do so before anyone read a single word on the wall.
